"Hasta la victoria siempre"

"Hasta la victoria siempre" was the signoff used by Ernesto "Ché" Guevara in the last letter he wrote to Fidel Castro.

It translates as "Forever, Until Victory" or in other words, "Keep fighting until victory". This was a reference to Cuba's continued resistance to America as well as Che Guevara's battle for liberation in Bolivia.

Shortly after writing the letter, Guevara was captured and executed by CIA Agent Félix Rodriguez. Rodriguez cut off one of Ché's hands as a souvenir, removed another finger which he promptly sent to Fidel Castro, and took Ché's watch which Rodriguez was still wearing and showing off decades later.

Sore itu istriku pulang kerja sambil membawa sekotak donat. Saya lihat, koq mereknya nggak jelas begitu. Lalu saya tanya, "Bunda beli donat di mana?" "Tadi ada bapak- bapak jualan di bis. Udah sore tapi barang jualannya masih banyak. Jadi aku beli aja. Kasihan." Nggak cuma sekali ini istriku melakukannya. Dulu ia juga pernah membeli hiasan berupa boneka kecil untuk dipasang di mobil. Karena kami tidak memiliki mobil, jadi saya tanya kenapa dibeli. Jawabannya sama, "Kasihan sama sibapak yang jualan."
Kadang kita sering meremehkan kejadian ini. Di bis, di kereta, atau di jalan. Karena kita mungkin sudah punya atau memang tidak membutuhkan barang tersebut, kita jadinya tidak peduli. Kepekaan sosial yang seharusnya kita miliki sebagai mahkluk Tuhan, tergantikan dengan rasionalitas kita. Padahal mungkin kita pernah mendengar sifat Rasulullah yang diriwayatkan tak pernah menolak seseorang yang meminta sesuatu kepada beliau. Kalau perlu beliau membantu dengan meminjam dahulu kepada orang lain. Atau tahu ayat yang berbunyi: "dan barangsiapa dipelihara dari kekikiran jiwanya, maka merekalah orang-orang yang beruntung" (QS. al-Hasyr:9). Tapi lebih seringnya kita meminggirkan hikmah tersebut.
Saya jadi malu sendiri rasanya kalau ada orang lain yang mendahului saya. Sementara saya mengajarkan kepada orang lain untuk lebih peka kepada sesama, di sisi lain saya masih berlaku egois. Semoga Alloh melindungi dan menjaga kita dari semua perbuatan yang membuat-Nya murka.
